The Para Lab was started when two of the top schools Flight Culture and Sky Paragliding decided to join forces and to share resources. Flight Culture, run by CFI John Welch has been teaching paramotoring for many years and John spent nearly three years working for Parajet so has extensive experience with paramotors. Sky Paragliding is run by CFI Tim King. Tim was one of the first ever BHPA paramotor instructors and has worked for Sky Paragliders so has an extensive knowledge of wings, harnesses and reserves. Learning to Paramotor

There are a number of routes to learn to paramotor and some are better, safer and easier than others. Here are our thoughts and recommendations. Let’s start with what you’ll need. Paramotors weigh at least 25 Kg with a full tank of fuel. If you have neck, back, shoulder, hip or knee problems, foot launched paramotoring may not be suitable for you however you could consider learning to fly paramotors with a trike and we’ll deal with that in a separate post so don’t give up hope!
